User Roles and Permissions

Understand what Owners, Managers, and Techs can see and do in NoSavvy, and learn how role assignment works across your company.

Choose roles based on access, not job titles

NoSavvy uses three roles to control what each team member can see and do: Owner, Manager, and Tech. Roles are assigned per company, so access always depends on which company the person is working in.

The three roles

A person can have different roles in different companies. For example, someone might be an Owner in one company and a Tech in another.

What each role can do

Use this table when deciding which role to assign. If someone needs access beyond assigned field work, they usually need Manager or Owner access.

Role assignment rules

Owners can assign any role: Owner, Manager, or Tech. Managers can invite Techs and other Managers, but they cannot grant the Owner role. Only an Owner can promote someone to Owner.

Tech access in detail

Techs see a simplified Triage dashboard with their next assigned job and today's assigned job count. They only see jobs assigned to them, and they can update job status, add notes, and flag issues on those jobs. Techs do not see job financial details, client records, reports, team management, or company settings.

Tech access is designed for field work. If a team member needs to manage clients, review reports, or work across all jobs, assign Manager or Owner instead.

Where to go next

After you decide which roles your team needs, use the Setup Guide pages for adding team members and assigning roles.
