Drag-and-Drop Scheduling
Reassign jobs between team members or unassign them with a simple drag on the schedule board.
Drag-and-drop scheduling
Move jobs between team members directly on the schedule board. Drag a job block to reassign it, change where it sits in the day, or send it back to the unassigned queue without opening the job.
Prerequisites
You need permission to edit jobs or create jobs to drag job blocks on the schedule board. Owners and Managers can drag and drop. Techs can view the board but cannot move jobs. For a full board overview, see Using the Schedule Board.
Reassigning a job
Open the Schedule Board and navigate to the target date
Open the schedule board. Use the Prev and Next buttons to find the day you want to manage.
Find the job block you want to reassign
Look through your team member columns to find the job you want to move. Each block shows the job title, client name, time, and status badge.
Drag the block to another team member's column
Click and hold the job block, then drag it to a different team member's column. A preview line and label appear showing where the job will land and the snapped time.
Release the block to drop it. The job is reassigned to that team member immediately.
Drag the block to the Unassigned Jobs queue to unassign
To remove a job from someone's schedule without deleting it, drag the block to the Unassigned Jobs queue on the right side of the board. The job keeps its date and time but is no longer assigned to anyone.
Practical scenarios
Use drag-and-drop when you need to react quickly during the day. You can update the schedule visually without opening each job one by one.
When someone calls in sick — Drag that person's jobs to other available team members' columns. If no one can take the work yet, move the jobs to the unassigned queue so they stay visible.
Balancing the day's workload — If one team member has too many jobs and another has open time, drag a block from the busy column to the open one. This gives you a faster way to spread work across the day.
Moving a job to the queue when no one is available — If a job cannot be assigned to anyone on that day, drag it to the Unassigned Jobs queue. The job stays on the same date so you can assign it later.
Dragging replaces the current assignment. When you drop a job block on a team member's column, that person becomes the sole assignee. If the job had multiple assignees, only the new team member is assigned after the drag.
When you drop a job on the timed grid, the start time snaps to where you release the block. To move a job without changing the time, drag it to the Anytime row at the top of the column instead.
